Key holder with ribbon and drap fold techniques in decoupage

Hello crafty friends!
Hope you all are doing well , must be busy with Raksha Bandhan festival you know we at Itsy Bitsy blog have Home decor theme for this month's challenge and our DTs have done amazing projects for your inspirations..plz visit blog to check these related to this I have created my home decor project..😊

I was planning  to do a key holder from long time n this month's new released beautiful decoupage papers designs inspired me to create this😊 my earlier post I tried lace work on faux wood decoupage...this time I have done ribbon and drape fold thing in my decoupage let's start with step by step instructions..
Step-1: first I selected 12"x 12" MDF base from store..and did free hand per my imagination..then created a template..and finally using that template I did that ribbon and drap fold look on bottom part...we need that template later for shading effect so keep aside.

Step-2: I gave two coats of white gesso.. and let it dry..once it was completed dry..I selected decoupage paper and cut out the design according to my Choice..then using decoupage glue I adhere the papers in required I have adhere in middle and two sides..and then rest of the area I have merged using same choice of chalk give same print look..

Step-3: then after giving similar matching background colours.. I used print had polka dot n script thing in design so i tried to give similar look....i have used Little birdie script stencil and that small mix polka dot stencil is a gift from a crafter friend..😊
thank you Suman 😘
Step-4: to match the original design I have used stamping in few places with brown archival ink. After giving proper drying time I applied two coats of deco varnish Matt.
Step-5: using washi tape I covered top n bottom part and in middle part I did white chalk paint using sponge...and in that small rectangular shapes I applied pink colour for shading I have used red paint.
Step-6: for bottom part Coloring I first secured the top ribbon part with washi tape and then did Coloring. First I did outline with dark pink mixing pink and red paint..and then filled the inside area. Now you can see drap lines lightly through pink then I did shading n all folding area in little darker shades.
Step-7: here for bottom part.. I kept the template in its place and did shading with light n dark colors using sponge to get that smooth finish. Finally using small polka dot stencil n white paint  gave that polka dot effect.. I really like this really changed my project look.
Here is the complete look after ribbon n that draping look..gave a coat of Matte  varnish...
Step-8: I wanted to highlight the ribbon and drap fold so I made a cone n filled that with texture paste..and applied in few effect you can see in picture below ☺️

Step-9: finally for key holder I took help to fix that hooks..( I bought these hooks in two sizes from itsybitsy Hyderabad store)
Finally to highlight my project I have used few mini flowers and sentiment chipboard.. beautiful ❤️
Hope you have liked my project and if you have any queries plz feel free to ask... thank you for stopping by and see you soon with my next post till then happy crafting and try to participate in this month's challenge

Mini canvas wall clock with volume decoupage...

Hello crafty friends!
Excited to start my second inning with Itsy bitsy....and for this post I wanted to make something very special which I was planning to do from long time..and new release of decoupage papers.. really gave me a kick start for this project...😁so let's start with project and it's detailed step by step instructions..

For this project I have used 12 pieces of 3"*3" mini canvas and base is  3/4" thick plywood in 14"x14".( I explained my project idea to my husband he helped me in this base cutout n fixing the clock parts n all πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•)

Step-1: first I did sanding with sand paper.. ( though board was quite smooth)...then roughly arranged all mini canvases as per my imagination and checked ..that how the arrangement is looking 😊

Selected two decoupage design to use for this project..and cut it into 3"*3"size  and middle part is 6.5"x 6.5"
Then I decoupaged each mini canvas using little birdie decoupage glue and these 3"*3" cutout designs... I really love these small cute decoupage canvases... getting more n more ideasπŸ˜„
Next I have applied little birdie white chalk paint in the middle area and then masking the white boarder area gave black chalk paint in rest outside area. I used two coats of both.
Next I decoupaged in the middle part where I am going to fix the dial...(it's not stuck at this stage)
Then gave black chalk paint edges to all mini this step I wasn't sure to use black I was liking the plain decoupage canvas look.. without any boarder...but then it's doneπŸ˜”πŸ˜¬
After placing and arranging all mini canvases I did stenciling with archival inks...this really changed the look of each design...
I wanted to use some rough texture to break the monotony I have later used Little birdie sand texture paste with fingers so I can the area is very small...then wasn't sure of that white texture look so to cover it ( not completely) then I have used gold guilding work only on some raised areas.and Iam very happy with the result...then finally I have distress with brown n black archival inks on gold guilding parts and all edges..fixed the MDF clock dial-in it's place using gel medium.
At this stage I thought that my project is complete..but then I got the idea from my leftover paper pieces to use that cute little butterflies somewhere on my I did volume decoupage..
For this I applied required number of butterfly design pieces on  sospeso sheet using sospeso glue..once it got dried.. I did fussy cutting..and gave volume to my design using tea light candle and wooden embossing tool.
Then finally using little birdie heavy gel medium I have fixed butterflies in few places.. you can see the result in below pictures..

After completing the whole project.. I thought to use my favourite little birdie Tinted metallic gold paint on outside boarder..and the end result you can see hereπŸ˜„πŸ’•.
Hope you have liked my project and for any queries you can ask me in comment box or message me personally...will try to reply.. thank you for stopping by... see you soon with my next post till then take care and happy crafting.
Love n hugs
